| The use of a dual fuel system enables the RX-8 Hydrogen RE to be driven on both hydrogen and gasoline. This highly convenient system allows care-free driving in areas without hydrogen stations and other necessary infrastructure. When driven on hydrogen, the vehicle produces zero CO2 emissions, and generates virtually no NOx. In addition to its excellent environmental performance, the vehicle has the natural driving feel typical of an internal combustion engine. The fact that the RX-8 Hydrogen RE can use existing engine parts and production facilities means that it has practical, low-cost applications. It is an environmentally friendly, highly reliable vehicle. |
