A glimpse of upcoming technologies at Japan’s biggest automotive engineering exposition
The Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (President: Keiji Otsu) is holding the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2023 Yokohama at PACIFICO Yokohama in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, from Wednesday, May 24 to Friday, May 26, 2023. This year's 30th live event edition includes exhibits by 499 companies (1,115 booths).
The concurrently held 2023 Spring Annual Congress features technical sessions, keynote addresses, the student poster session, and the latest automotive body technologies (exhibits).
In addition, Online Stage 1 will be held from Wednesday, May 17 to Wednesday, June 7. Feel free to use it to get preview information before coming to the site.
Media Hour
On the 24th, the first day of the Exposition, a media hour granting media outlets priority coverage will be held.

Under the theme of “Gathering the collective wisdom of the automotive industry for carbon neutrality and a recycling-oriented society”, the Yokohama exposition showcases a path to sustainability for more than 10,000 components and resources. Exhibits include resource-recycling technologies for re-use, returning components to their raw materials, and re-purposing outside the automotive industry, as well as biomass-derived renewable resource technologies. The exposition is the ideal forum for the whole industry to come together and consider the availability of sustainable resources to help achieve a recycling-oriented society.

The Keynote Address (May 25 from 17:00 to 18:00) will be delivered by Keigo Akimoto of the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth.
Title: Road Transportation Sector Prospects for Achieving Carbon Neutrality in 2050
Summary: We are confronted with a major transformation encompassing automobile electrification and CASE on a broader scale to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050. Mr. Akimoto will present an outlook based not just on passenger cars, but also on the road transportation sector as a whole, as well as on the supply of energy in the context of the entire energy system.
