The Japan Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc. ( JSAE, President: Kunio Nakaguro) will hold the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2025 NAGOYA under the theme “Integrate with Future Tech! Towards the Future of Mobility through the Fusion of New Technologies” over three days, from Wednesday, July 16 to Friday, July 18, at Aichi Sky Expo.

As the central hub of the automotive‐related industries, Aichi will bring together companies and organizations that support both automobiles and broader mobility. In this 9th in‐person Nagoya edition—the largest ever held here—475 exhibitors will participate, including 6 technology unveilings making their world debut. From elemental technologies that underpin system sophistication and innovation to fully integrated solutions, a rich spectrum of cutting‐edge developments will be on display.

The management environment of the automotive industry has grown more uncertain than ever. Electrification, digitalization and autonomous driving, the rise of emerging automakers in global competition, geopolitical risks and protracted international conflicts, and the need to rebuild supply chains in response to trade policies of major export markets are all converging to intensify uncertainty.

In particular, the development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs)—poised to become a source of future value creation and competitive advantage—depends critically on securing talent capable of driving cross-industry innovation and software development. Against this backdrop, JSAE’s role in nurturing engineers and providing forums for exchange has become increasingly vital to the sustainable growth of the industry.

Since its inaugural event in Yokohama in 1992, the Automotive Engineering Exposition has provided a premier Exposition for the advancement of automotive technology—showcasing trends, sharing insights into future directions, and fostering technical excellence and collaboration. Over more than 30 years, it has expanded into one of Japan’s largest technology exhibitions, overcoming challenges such as global recessions and pandemics through continuous enhancement of its program. At the 32nd in-person Automotive Engineering Exposition 2025 Yokohama held this May, a record 617 companies and organizations exhibited, and total attendance over three days reached approximately 80,000 visitors.

Building on strong support from exhibitors and attendees, the Nagoya edition—launched in 2014 in this automotive cluster—has similarly grown in scale. This year’s program will feature a broad array of content, including JSAE Special Exhibits,JSAE Special Presentations, Exhibition of Vehicles Featuring the Latest Technologies, and hands-on experience zones throughout the show period.

Under the JSAE plan, the JSAE Special Exhibits—created in collaboration with sponsoring companies—will explore “The future of cars and mobility created by the fusion of new technologies - The horizons of automotive technology broadened by digital transformation -.” Framed around three perspectives—the evolution of vehicles enabled by DX, the transformation of societies and services surrounding mobility, and the advancement of manufacturing—it will introduce technologies and initiatives from startups to cross-industry innovators that are forging new value in mobility.

The JSAE Special Presentations will invite experts to address emerging challenges—such as security threats and the manufacturing sector’s response to shifting international conditions—amid the global acceleration of SDV and DX efforts.

The “Exhibition of Vehicles Featuring the Latest Technologies” will gather real vehicles equipped with the latest systems—from fuel-cell heavy-duty trucks to passenger cars and motorcycles—and offer interactive experiences such as the "Hands-on VR Driving Simulator Experience", where participants drive a real vehicle that responds to virtual‐space objects via braking and steering, and the "Fully Immersive Interior Sound Experience" , which transforms the cabin into an immersive entertainment environment with 3D audio. These attractions are designed to deepen visitors’ understanding of cutting-edge automotive technologies.

JSAE remains committed to fostering the sustainable development of the automotive and mobility industries by sharing knowledge, nurturing the next generation of engineers, and facilitating technical exchange through the Automotive Engineering Exposition.
