The Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc. (JSAE), chaired by Kunio Nakaguro, will hold the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2026 YOKOHAMA at Pacifico Yokohama from Wednesday, May 27 to Friday, May 29, 2026.
Marking its 33rd in-person edition, this year’s exposition will feature a record-breaking 612 exhibitors and 1,516 booths, including 23 world-first unveilings. As automotive technologies become increasingly integrated with emerging fields such as AI, digital transformation (DX), and autonomous driving, the exposition is attracting attention as a key venue for experiencing the forefront of the mobility industry.
In conjunction with the exposition, the 2026 JSAE Spring Congress will also be held, featuring academic presentations and networking events for young and mid-career engineers, providing opportunities to bridge research and industry.

 

■Theme of JSAE Special Exhibits
The Future of Cars and Mobility Created Through Integration with New Technologies
- Automotive Technology Innovated Through DX and Co-Creation 
The exposition will showcase the latest technologies, R&D initiatives, and social implementation examples in the automotive industry, centered around the concept of a next-generation mobility society created through the fusion of automotive engineering with emerging technologies such as AI, big data, cloud computing, and robotics.

■Featured Programs
The exposition will present numerous exhibitions and lectures covering the structural transformation of the mobility industry, including SDV (Software Defined Vehicles), generative AI, autonomous driving, regional mobility DX, and digital twins.
Featured JSAE-organized lectures will include presentations on AI policy by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), as well as a session by Microsoft Corporation on generative AI and the future of in-car experiences.

■Chief Engineer Presentations
Leading automakers including Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Mazda Motor Corporation, and Suzuki Motor Corporation will hold presentations on their latest vehicle development initiatives.
Featured vehicles include the new Nissan LEAF, the new Mazda CX-5, and the Suzuki e VITARA, highlighting the technologies and development philosophies behind these next-generation models.

■2026 JSAE Spring Congress
Held concurrently with the exposition, the “2026 JSAE Spring Congress” will feature approximately 400 technical presentations across 90 sessions.

■Press Hour
On Wednesday, May 27, the first day of the exhibition, a special “Press Hour” will be arranged to provide media representatives with priority access for interviews and coverage.
